Kids Around the World wants to thank you for your interest in taking part in one of our upcoming playground builds. We currently have several exciting opportunities we want to share with you. Please see the listing below to see where we are heading and which ones you might want to join in with us. If you see one that you want to participate in, let us know. Leogane, Haiti: June 17-24, 2013
Cost: $1,380, plus airfare

Life in Leogane is very different since the 2010 earthquake that devastated this bustling ocean-side village. Leogane was the epicenter of the earthquake that rocked Haiti January 12, 2010, killing over 316,000 people with 30,000 deaths in the small town of Leogane alone. 80-90% of the buildings in Leogane were taken to the ground in the devastating earthquake. We will build hope in the lives of the children in Leogane and surrounding communities as we construct several playgrounds there so kids can just be kids and play, forgetting about all the tragedy they have faced.

Chuvitayo & Quito, Ecuador: June 29 – July 7, 2013

Join us for a trip to the jungles of Ecuador this June. We will be working with our KIDS office in Quito for a project in Chuvitayo, Ecuador. This Quechua community is located near Shell in the Ecuadorian jungle. KIDS has extensive programs in 8 communities in the country and this is the next community we will be working with. This project will consist of building a playground for the community and other kids based programs. After our work, we will travel back to Quito and visit: El Panecillo, La Basilica, Mitad del Mundo, Teleferico, Banos, and the Equator. This will be an amazing project as we serve and minister hand in hand with KIDS Ecuador and the leaders of the community.

Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic: July 13-19, 2013

This team will do a little of everything! They will be installing a playground, holding outreach programs for the children, and training children’s workers. They will also be building a Hope Center. We re-work a shipping container and turn it into a place of ministry, where children can come to learn about the incredible love Jesus has for them and receive the hope that only He can give. This Hope Center is extra-special to us as it is being built in memory of KIDS Staff member, Beth Shaver.

Capetown / Paarl, South Africa: August 3-12, 2013

Extras: Cape Town Supplemental Excursions
Although the landscape and wildlife of Cape Town, South Africa is beautiful, the living conditions for millions in the surrounding townships is not. In the post Apartheid era, racism, violence, unemployment, extreme poverty and HIV/Aids are the reality for children and their families. We have an opportunity to make an impact in the townships of Paarl, a community where children are abandoned by their parents and where hope has worn thin. Join us in an amazing effort to distribute food to hungry children and help build 2 playgrounds in the townships where children have little to nothing, especially love and a safe place to play.

Jericho, Israel: October 6-15, 2013

Travel with us to ancient Jericho, which is located in the West Bank of Israel, to serve children living in the refugee camps. These camps have been operating for almost 40 years and the people living here have persevered through constant pain and struggle. You will have an opportunity to give a gift to the children there that they have only dreamed of: a playground! We will be partnering with a local ministry that serves the people living in the camps. After we finish our playgrounds, we will have 5 days of touring Galilee, the Dead Sea and Masada, and Jerusalem. You will also be welcome to stay additional days to take advantage of all Israel has to offer.

Bethlehem, Israel: October 11-20, 2013

Now’s your chance to not only see the Holy Land, but also to serve the people living there! We will be working in Bethlehem, which is located within the West Bank of Israel, on several projects with trusted local partners to bring hope to the children living among the refugee camps an surrounding areas. This will be an incredible opportunity to serve the children that have been through so much pain and turmoil over the last few years.
