We just returned from the south and are heading to Thailand today. We’ve had a great time these last few days working at the homes and playing with the kids. We have also had a lot of "adventure" which has been really fun for the team.
When we left the south home the team was very emotional about leaving the kids we had invested so much time into. There were many tears and hugs as we walked away. The love our team poured out to them was incredible and we are all very proud of them!
Once we arrived back into Dhaka, we visited another home and quickly became attached to these kids as well. They really enjoyed the attention we gave them...it’s what they needed. We then went on an interesting shopping tour and ate at Pizza Hut! It was the best pizza ever!

I bring you greetings from the southern part of Bangladesh where we have been ministering to the children of a small community. Today the students conducted another VBS with nearly 80 children present. It is exciting to see their enthusiasm teaching with the flannelgraphs, a teaching tool that many of these young people have never seen before, but now are becoming pretty good at using the fabric characters to teach stories from the Bible.
The excitement really gets going when we use the parachute…the laughter and shouts attract even more children! We also spent some time digging holes for a playground that will be installed someday. Even though we won’t be installing it, we really believe this is what God has called us to do. Tomorrow we will travel back to the capitol city of Dhaka, conduct another VBS style program and then begin preparing for our journey home. All is well, the kids are great and we are thrilled to be partnered with them reaching children in Bangladesh for Jesus!

Yesterday we had a wonderful meeting with the National Board of Revenue and he has granted duty free status on the playgrounds. However, our partner in Bangladesh was informed for the first time of another letter they need, one from the Ministry of Social Welfare, the Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. This has resulted in yet another delay of the container…please continue to pray, but it appears the playground container will not reach us before our departure.
Even though this is disappointing we are excited and thrilled to be part of God’s plan in Bangladesh. Yesterday we traveled from the northern part to the southern part of the country spending the day in a different orphanage loving the children and ministering to them through VBS! We have prepared the grounds for the playgrounds when they arrive to the site, even have all the holes dug! We are spending time and building strong relationships with many high school students. It is exciting to see the team’s attitude and their desire to serve no matter the conditions! Please continue to pray for the team as we travel and reach out to the children of Bangladesh with His love and share the Good News of Jesus!

The team is doing very well and enjoying their time in Bangladesh. Today they conducted a VBS style outreach all led by the students. Nearly 85 children were part of this outreach! It was exciting to see the team lead the singing, games, crafts and even a flannelgraph lesson!
We also dug the holes for the playground that is still sitting in customs. Hopefully it will be released soon. The project today was up in the northern part of the country and for a very brief moment they stepped "over the line" into India for a quick picture. The team is healthy, excited and anxious to serve anyway they possibly can in Bangladesh.
Please continue to pray, especially for the release of the playground.

Today we spent the new year going to a local church service. It was
great to hear the people worship so passionately in their own
language! The pastor introduced us to the congregation and they even
said happy birthday to Ryan...He turned 18 today!
After that we went to look at some sites in Dhaka which were very
interesting. Wherever we went we attracted a large following. People
would walk with us and take pictures of us while we were looking at
the monuments!
Tomorrow we head north to start our work...we are ready for that!
